I am a sucker for a sale, and I just ran a cross a SuperFly that was $10 off on eBay. So of course I bought it. Here is the website for the plane http://www.superflyrc.com/ It’s all EPP so I thought it would be a good one to train with.

The box arrived and it has a Tower Pro 2408-21T 3▲
it also comes with a HD 8060 prop
Heads Up RC recomends a 20 amp ESC for that motor, and says:
This motor is only rated for 13 amps,
But with a EP8040 pulls 14 amps,
I am thinking about buying another battery, so probalby should be looking at a lipo that is rated for around 21 amps or more.
Looking on CommonsenseRC.com they have this battery:
11.1 volt - 1500mAh 15C Li-Poly Pack #3S1500-15 $49.95 11.1 volt - 1500mAh 15C Li-Poly Pack Click to enlarge
3 cell Lithium Polymer 1500mAh battery pack. 15C continuous discharge rate of 22.5 amps with 30 amp bursts in accordance with our "Real Flight Rating" method. Please see our "Real Flight Rating" method that describes more specific use of "burst" discharge rates with our Li-Poly cells. Size: 23mm x 36mm x 83mm - 133 grams -
133 grams equals 4.691 ounces
I just checked and my Superfly weighs 16 ounces ready to fly, with the commonsense battery.
The thrust is 13 ounces, and with that it will take off ok straight out of your hand without throwing it.
