Radio controlled helicopter 4

I have been flying more and crashing less the last couple days.

Although I had 3 major crashes the last 3 times I have tried to fly.

I think this is from just trying to do things that are above my skill level.

It is hard to just try to take off and land over and over until you can do it without crashing.

I have kind of already decided that if I tear this helicopter up I will buy another radio controlled helicopter and by that time I should be able to fly well enough not to destroy it.

Today the problem is that with the longer flights I am pushing on the joystick for longer periods of time, maybe up to 8 minutes at a time.

The left joystick that controls the power always has to be on, (or you crash) and the pressure on my thumb builds up after a few minutes and starts to become somewhat painful.

I tried to take the back of the controller off, but it has some kind of magical properties that will not allow it to be completely removed.

So I decided on the next best thing, I got a firm grip on one side and yanked it up about 2 inches, I was actually Trying to break the case in 2 pieces, but it didn’t break.

But once up that far I was able to put a screw driver in and get it under the spring and then stretch it out of shape.  This relieved about 80 percent of the force on the joystick and now it flies much easier on the thumb.
