Using the Cobra MicroTalk

My wife and I have been using the Cobra microtalk for a couple of weeks now. 

I have to say that it has really come in handy.  My wife does not want to get a cell phone because she does not like talking on the phone that much, and she does not want to pay the monthly service charge that comes with the cell phones.

This little two way radio has completely solved our problem of being able to find each other while shopping.  It also works very good when she goes to the park which is about a half mile from our house.

I have even driven to the bank which is just over a mile away and it still works, but the voice quality is starting to break up at that point.  The area consists of some commercial and residential buildings and lots of trees.

 I never expected to get the 17 miles that is advertised, and I really don't need it.  When walking around the mall it's doubtful that we will get more than a half mile away from each other, but it's nice to know that it works when your in a store on different floors.

The private channels are very nice, it means that the radio does not make a sound unless my wife is calling me.  The batter life is very good, I have been using it a couple hours a day and have only changed it up one time.

So over all I have to say that I am very pleased with this two way radio, it does exactly what we want and has turned out to be very useful.
