After reading the manual for about 45 minutes, and looking some stuff up on the internet I feel I have a good understanding what this two-way radio can do.

I charged them up over night and when I turned them on they worked, I thought that was cool, since I was a little nervous with all the different settings.

My wife and I took the radios over to Wal-Mart and tried them out, first she dropped it into her purse and I hit the call button about 8 times before she was able to hear it.

The volume was only about half way up but even with the volume on high your probably not going to hear it at the bottom of a large purse with all the background noise of the store.

I told her to put it in her coat pocket, then turned the volume up and tested it.  From there with the volume on high, you can hear it just fine.

The radios are very light and compact so they will fit in any pocket, or you can clip them on your belt or pocket.  They are not hard to carry around at all.

I walked about 100 yards and entered another store, with the power set on low and using a FRS channel I was able to talk and hear my wife without any problems at all.

I did get some interference about 3 times, in around 45 minutes, for around two seconds each time, something in the store I was in was causing my radio to go off, but this was not even really an annoyance.

Next time I am going to try one of the CTCSS/DCS privacy codes and see if that helps to eliminate the noise.  But it was always easy to talk and hear what was being said.

The next test I want to try is a park about .5 miles from our house. I am curious to see if the radio signal will make it down there.

So far I am very pleased and consider these radios very useful, with helping 2 people to not get lost in a shopping mall, which was our main purpose for buying them.
