Signed up for http://www.ec21.com/ and sent emails to about 6 suppliers of the hydrofoams, asking what their minimum order is and how much they charge.
Could be interesting to see, there was someone in Australia selling a hydrofoam on ebay for $65 makes me wonder if that’s what they really cost or not?
I got excited when I found out that one of the manufacturers were selling the RCV Hydrofoam for $79 but then I asked the minimum order and shipping, it turns out that you have to buy at least 10 and the shipping is either $500 or $900
So that makes the total cost each $129 and that’s if you buy 10,
And I can still buy one from ebay for $124
So it looks like ebay is really tough to beat.
www.alibaba.com/showroom/R_C_Hydrofoam/1.html also has a list if manufacturers but I signed up for the other one, and am going to see how that goes before I waste any more time signing up for any other sites.
And it looks like I don't have to worry anymore about landing my hydroform, because today some of the electronics burned out and I can no longer move the ailerons,
They are stuck in their current position and the controlls now do nothing.
But I learned that it is much easier to use it on the ground now because I don't have to worry about it taking off and flying, it just stays on the ground all the time now.
So that means that it was me who was not working the controlls right that was making it take off and crash.
Also, I have been noticing lately that the prop sets a little low, and it is below the sponsons. I think it should be above them, when you are on the water or concrete and the boat tips forward as it does every time you start out then the prop will hit.
I don’t know what raising the prop would do to the way it handles, but it would be much better as far as not hitting things.
